THE LIVING MODEL
Almost all the great portraits held by the world's national galleries were painted directly from the live model - essential for the creation of a drawing that is truly "realist' and reflects the mood and soul of the subject.

Your portrait is a lifetime investment and so you want a result that reveals much more about you than just looks. For this an artist needs face-to-face time, to focus and to observe - to get to know you. The search for realism and perfection places an important demand on you the client – an important investment of your time.

My way of working, therefore, demands a real commitment from you.
- To spend some early personal time with me so that I can begin to discover your gestures, moods and personality;
- To commit to 5-8 three hour sittings;
- To explore a variety of poses in order to identify the one which best reveals the true physical and emotional you.

MY COMMITMENT TO YOU AS YOUR PORTRAIT ARTIST
...is to draw the "real" you, using the techniques of the great classical masters – the traditional approach to realism:
- One model only, head and bust, life size with extreme precision, in charcoal
- Simple/discrete background
- 5-8 three hour sittings (with regular short breaks)
- Use of photographs between sittings to minimise demands on your time
